We often hear about those who, in the Bible and throughout time, have stood before kings and rulers and given their lives as a ransom for Christ. It is not too often we see and witness these very events happen before our own eyes. The 21 Martyrs of Libya were one of those rare experiences. These men all stood on firm ground, not letting the fear of death shake them from their faith. It is said as they were being martyred, their crowns would be visibly delivered to them as they rose to their heavenly father. As these men so courageously completed their mission, let us not be shaken by the changing world today but rather let us take hold of our incomprehensible and unchanging God. We commemorate their departure to heaven on February 15. May their holy blessings be with us all. Amen.
